Pocitelj ➜ Mostar

The polished, centuries-old limestone cobblestones (kaldrma) throughout Old Town and on Stari Most are extremely slick, even when dry. Comfortable sneakers or grippy walking shoes are essential (avoid smooth-soled sandals or heels).

Mostar (Herzegovina region) is noticeably warmer and sunnier than Sarajevo, with summer temperatures regularly exceeding 35°C–40°C (95°F–104°F). Be sure to pack:

• High-SPF sunscreen and lip balm

• A broad-brimmed hat or cap

• Sunglasses

• Light, breathable clothing (linen or light cotton)

If you plan to swim at the Kravica falls we highly recommend bringing your swimwear and light towel.

While cards are accepted in established hotels and larger restaurants, cash is king in Mostar's bazaar shops, small cafés, ice cream stalls, and for tipping local bridge divers. Euros are also widely accepted in small bills.

Always carry a copy of valid ID or passport, especially if traveling outside of Sarajevo.
